The $2.5 Liberty Quarter Eagle was released by the US Mint in 1847 and would continue to circulate until 1907 when it was replaced by the Indian Gold Quarter Eagle. Each coin was struck by the US Mint with a $2.50 legal tender value and contained .12094 troy ounces .900 of pure gold. All coins featured in this listing have been certified by either the PCGS or NGC as being in near perfect MS65 condition meaning that they contain all of their original luster.

On the coin’s reverse side, an eagle is shown at the center. The bird is perched on an olive branch and a bundle of arrows which it clutches in opposing talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” Directly below the eagle at the center is the legal tender value of “2 ½ D.”
