The Everglades, often called the “River of Grass,” represents one of the most unique and threatened ecosystems in North America. Conservation efforts became crucial in the 20th century as development, agriculture, and water management projects reduced the Everglades to about half its original size. The ecosystem provides essential habitat for endangered species like the Florida panther and American crocodile, while also serving as a natural water filter and barrier against storm surge.

All 25 Florida Goldback Gold Notes available here are new items in the Goldback Series. Each one comes with its own plastic currency sleeve to further protect the gold in the gold note. Goldbacks are made from thin layers of 24-karat gold that are combined together between polymer sheets.

On the 25 Florida Goldback Gold Note, you’ll find a young woman in an aluminum boat traversing the beauty of the Everglades. Some of Florida’s most famous natural residents are present in this picture as a panther stalks the woman in the trees above, while an alligator glides along the water beside her boat.
