The modern Sovereign, introduced in 1817 during George III’s reign, established the iconic design featuring Benedetto Pistrucci’s St. George and the Dragon on the reverse, a design that continues to be used on modern Sovereigns more than 200 years after the modern version was first issued. Each 2025 Proof Great Britain Silver Sovereign Coin offered here comes with proof visuals that include frosted elements with mirrored fields. The coins are housed in capsules and presented in a black presentation box from The Royal Mint.

Obverse design elements on these 2025 Proof Great Britain Silver Sovereigns depict His Majesty King Charles III. This first-generation effigy of Charles III was created in late 2022 by Martin Jennings. The left-profile relief depicts His Majesty without a crown on his head.
