Oklahoma’s cowboy heritage developed in the late 1800s, when the territory played a vital role in cattle drives moving from Texas to Kansas along routes like the Chisholm Trail. Beginning with the 1889 land runs, the region saw an influx of ranchers and settlers, forming expansive cattle ranches that laid the foundation for Oklahoma’s western legacy.

Each 1/2 Oklahoma Goldback Gold Note comes bundled together with a black strap holding 100 notes together. These notes are made with 24-karat gold and include newly added UV security features visible on the reverse. The 1/2 Goldback is the smallest denomination currently offered in the series.
