This design is officially licensed by the US Air Force and US Space Force.

The U.S. military’s involvement in space operations primarily fell under the purview of the U.S. Air Force. In 1985, the U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) was established to oversee the military’s space-related activities, including satellite communications, missile warning systems, and other space-based operations.

In the obverse design of United States Armed Forces Space Force Silver Rounds, the mint depicts an emblem honoring the newest branch of the Armed Forces. The United States Space Force was established with the mission of organizing, training, and equipping space forces to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and provide space capabilities to joint and coalition forces. Its responsibilities include satellite operations, missile warning systems, space-based surveillance, and other space-related operations critical to national security.

For the reverse design of the 1 oz Space Force Silver Round, the mint features a common design for the series. Here, the American flag is shown in the background with the phrase HOME OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE engraved around the edge of the field.
