The obverse of the Scottsdale Vortex Silver Bar features the Scottsdale Mint Lion. The lion is seen front and center on the design field. The background consists of a unique vortex background filled with intricate linework.

The reverse side of the 1 oz Vortex Silver Bar displays identifying marks of the bar. At the top of the bar, the metal weight and purity are displayed. The name of the mint runs down the left-hand side of the bar while half of the Scottsdale Mint Lion is seen on the right.
