For the obverse of 1 oz Cincinnati Reds Silver Rounds, you’ll find the team’s iconic logo. The Reds’ primary logo features a distinctive wishbone “C” that has become one of baseball’s most recognizable marks. Inside the “C” often appears the word “REDS” in the team’s traditional script lettering. This timeless design has been a constant throughout the franchise’s long history, with only minor modifications.
In the reverse design of MLB Cincinnati Reds Silver Rounds, you will notice the Major League Baseball logo. The MLB mark is a wide horizontal rectangle split into two portions by a batter silhouette in the center, with a small baseball near the bat. Designed in 1968 by Jerry Dior, it first appeared on uniforms in 1969.
The Cincinnati Reds became the first openly all-professional baseball team in 1869, revolutionizing the sport. The franchise has a complex history, with the original Reds becoming a charter member of the National League in 1876, but later expelled by the league’s other owners in 1880. A new franchise, known as the Red Stockings, was formed in 1881 and played in various other leagues until rejoining the National League in 1881. The new franchise bound itself to the original Reds by rebranding from Red Stockings back to Reds in 1890.
These 1 oz MLB Cincinnati Reds Silver Rounds are available with protective flips and arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The MLB Silver Round collection includes BU and colorized versions of the team logos for each of the 30 franchises of Major League Baseball.
